FAQs

What is the new detection angle in NIJ 0101.07? Why is it more difficult?

NIJ 0101.07 adds a mandatory 45° oblique (angled) shot, which did not exist in NIJ 0101.06.

This test is especially demanding for soft armor because an angled impact can bypass part of the fiber layers, significantly increasing the difficulty of stopping the projectile.

Which protection level should I choose?

The protection level should be determined based on the threats you anticipate facing:

  • Level IIIA:Suitable for pistol threats (9mm / .44 MAG), often used in soft body armor or vest linings.

  • Level III / III+:Protects against most rifle rounds (e.g., 7.62×39, 5.56×45, 7.62×51).

  • Level IV:Protects against armor-piercing rounds (e.g., .30-06 M2AP), currently the highest level of armor protection.

If you are unsure, please tell us your mission environment or threat type, and we will recommend the most suitable model.

What sizes do you offer?

Standard sizes include 25*30cm.

We can also provide custom sizes, special curvatures, and ultra-lightweight structures according to customer requirements.

What materials are used in TTA armor plates?

We utilize a variety of advanced materials to achieve optimal protection and weight balance:

  • SiC/B4C/Al2O3 ceramics: High hardness and excellent penetration resistance.

  • UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene): Lightweight, high energy absorption, significantly reducing bullet drop (BFD).

  • TTA Forticoat polyurea coating: Improves fragmentation resistance, multi-hit protection, and structural integrity.

Different protection levels require different structures; we can provide OEM/ODM services upon request.

What tests and certifications have your bulletproof plates passed?

TTA products are tested according to internationally recognized standards, including:

  • NIJ 0101.06 / NIJ 0101.07 (draft)

  • MIL-STD 662F

  • ISO / ASTM related environmental and durability testing

We can provide complete test reports (BFD data, shooting photos, multi-shot performance, etc.).
